to all my favorite bloggers,

spreading positivity.

Hello, friends!

Hope you don’t mind the different post for today. But I’ve been feeling a lot of things lately and I felt like this would be a great post to express all of that.

I was actually talking to Olivia the other day about random acts of kindness. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I can do to make other people’s days brighter and to remind the ones around me that the world can still be a good place. And I realized that blogging is actually where I feel that myself. Seeing people interact and share love towards other creators always makes my heart warm and I realized I’d never done this before.

Recently, the 2019 Book Blogger Awards got a lot of people talking about their favorite fellow bloggers, but I was super busy at the time so I didn’t get around to write my own nominations post.

To top all of that, I also went on Twitter the other day, which I hardly ever do. Twitter is my least favorite social media, if I’m being honest, and even though I have a fan account to gush about K-POP, I’ve been more and more absent there with time. I feel like it’s just a place where I’m constantly reminded of negativity and people always seem to be trying to make drama out of absolutely everything.

So as I shared the other day, I hope to make your timelines a little bit better and brighter, and hopefully, through this post, also make a fellow blogger smile and feel better. 😌

There’s no other way to start this post but acknowledging Marie, the true queen of this community. Even before I moved to WordPress, when I was still blogging on Tumblr, Marie was already extremely friendly and always left the most thoughtful comments. She inspired me to share more about my own country in my blog and has made some of the best features ever to share the positivity in the international book blogging community. She does an amazing work at blogging, answering comments, checking out other people’s blogs and has always made me feel welcomed and good about my content. I am so thankful she exists and for all the pep talk she’s given me over the years.

Emily is another blogger I’ve been following since forever and she’s just always been the kindest. Even though recently I haven’t had time to blog hop like I once did, she still leaves the best comments and I’m so thankful for that. I’ve been following her for so long, it almost feels like I was able to watch her growth and her content become better day after day. Recently, she reviewed some backlist titles in her blog, such as Twilight and The Hunger Games, and I loved seeing these books from a 2019 perspective. She also shares writing content that is extremely relatable and I wish I could be as eloquent as she is most of the time.

Sophie truly deserves the title of friendliest book blogger, because she is. From day one, she’s been the kindest & most supportive person and has always left the most thoughtful comments in every single one of my posts. Truly, I don’t know how she does it all, but I’m so thankful for her. She shares a lot about books and I find her reviews so entertaining, but the posts I love the most by her are the movie talks! I’m not the biggest movie watcher, but I always love to discuss it with people and I was so happy to see this new feature on her blog. Her aesthetic is also on point and I love how simple and beautiful her new layout is.

Honestly, El is another one of those extremely friendly bloggers that always stops by to check out my posts and I’m so thankful. Even when, earlier in July, my life was pretty much falling apart and I was so busy I could barely keep up with everything, they were always there, making me feel like I was still being heard and that my content was still relevant. Also, they’ve recommended some amazing songs and artists that I still listen to and I’m legit super grateful for that as well, lol. Their content is so positive and up-beat and never fail to put a smile on my face, especially with rambly intros, that are actually my favorites!

When Lauren first commented in one my posts, I remember just feeling so so so great about myself for the rest of the day. She’s always been the nicest person, always leaving incredibly thoughtful comments, with so much heart and content. She’s complimented my writing once and I legit died, because I find her posts so amazing. She’s eloquent and gracious and I want to read everything she posts. Her monthly wrap-ups are always so nice and her reviews inspire me so much. I also can not recommend enough her post on ‘Why You Should Read Aristotle and Dante This Summer’, because even though I love every single positive review I can find of this book, this one particularly resonated with me, as I feel like Lauren was able to express everything I’ve always wanted to talk about this book but had never found the words to, which just shows how incredibly smart her content is.

Okay, but in all seriousness, every single time I talk or even read one of Olivia’s posts, I instantly smile. Her content is so positive and even when she’s ranting, she’s adorable, lol. She was one of my biggest inspirations for my top 5 posts, because I love whenever she shares her fangirl rambles about favorite characters & tropes. Also, her mini reviews are so fun to read! I feel like whenever I’m reading my own, I just feel like they’re so not interesting and no one probably even reads them, but her mini reviews are entertaining and on point, while still being full of emotions? I don’t know how she does it, truly. To top that, she’s a Taylor Swift & Harry Potter fan and I could read her talking about both for hours without getting tired.

The fact Zoie is only seventeen is something I’m not able to wrap my mind around. She’s so mature and intelligent and her content is a reflection of her love for travel and words. All of her posts are extremely entertaining to read, not only because she has an amazing aesthetic and formating layout that I wish I could master, but because she really has a beautiful way of expressing herself. Zoie also inspires me to seek for more content in foreign languages, whether that be music – thank you so much for all the Norwegian artists recommendations, by the way! -, shows or movies. Her support on my feature ‘A Trip to my Home Country’ means more to me than I can put into words and I hope to grow up to be like Zoie one day, truly.

Even though I haven’t been following Caitlin for the longest time, I feel like her growth has been noticeable. Her content has improved so much and she’s definitely become more comfortable in sharing her thoughts, even if controversial. It just shows how honest her posts are and how mature she is as well. Basically: book blogging has showed me that teenagers can truly change the world, because there are so many amazing high-schoolers showing how deep, meaningful and intelligent their words can be and I couldn’t be happier to have found a community that inspires me this much. I hope to see Caitlin growing more and more throughout the years, because she truly deserves as much appreciation as she can get on her fantastic content.

Speaking of amazing and inspiring teenagers on the blogging community, I have to mention Annie. As soon as I found out about her blog, I knew she was going to be one of my favorite bloggers. Her content is mostly life-style related, which I love to read just as much as I love to gush about books. She shares a lot of deep thoughts in her posts, which again, truly make me feel proud to be a teenager and shows that we have much more to offer than adults give us credit for. She also inspired me to try out black out poems and though I haven’t felt comfortable to share mine yet (mostly because they’re probably all grammatically incorrect – the perks of being bilingual i guesss lol), I’ve had a lot of fun doing it and I probably would’ve never tried it if she hadn’t shared.

I’ve said this before, but I stand by the fact that Taasia is a wizard. Whenever she shares her monthly wrap-ups, I am impressed by how much she got to read, even though she has a super busy life with school. She’s just an incredibly smart person and also fantastic at time management, lol. I adore reading her monthly wrap ups and TBRs and I also find her mini reviews a ton of fun. She also inspired me to track down my books regarding the diversity aspects and even though I haven’t done it on my blog, I do have a separate note on my phone where I track the books I read that have specific reps and I can not wait to see the final results by the end of the year. Her content is amazing, she’s friendly and suuuuuper nice and overall a joy to this community.

I do not remember exactly how I stumbled upon Ngọc, but I am so glad to have found their blog. I really enjoy reading their posts – I don’t know how to explain it, but they have such an easy going way with words and every single post by them is entertaining, even when they’re talking about anime characters I don’t know, lol. Also: their blog aesthetic is stunning and so colorful and beautiful? I am loving this new layout a lot. They also talk a lot about movies and even though is clear Ngọc has a much more sophisticated movie taste than I do, I still adore reading their thoughts.

I also ask you guys to leave down below some of your favorite bloggers, so I can check them out and spread more love. Thank you!

  6. Lais! First of all, I’m so beyond sorry that it has taken me nearly a week to comment on this wonderful, wonderful post of yours. When I saw the initial notification of when you posted this, I immediately headed over to it and screens hotted the heck out of the kind words you said about me. Even though I’ve yet to actually comment and thank you for being so sweet (life has gotten hectic, and I’m trying to relearn the life/blogging balance!), your words have made me smile on numerous occasions when I’m not feeling too hot.

As I’m sure a lot of book bloggers will agree, starting my blog was kind of like a leap of faith – I was entirely unsure of how I would be as a blogger, and I still have my days where I get into a little funk about my blog. You are so unbelievably kind and thoughtful to have said the things you did, and it means the world to me. You’ve been nothing but nice, and I am so happy that you enjoy my blog as much as you do – that’s really such a compliment because you’re so incredible yourself! From the bottom of my heart: thank you, thank you, thank you.

I’m also so super excited to check out these other amazing bloggers that I’ve yet to discover!

    As always, beautiful post ❤️
