jonas brothers book tag!

booktagnovo

Hello, friends!

This is, by far, the most exciting tag I’ve ever answered in my blog before. First: we can oficially say that the Jonas Brothers are back and I still feel like crying everytime I’m reminded that this is real. And also because there’s now an entire book tag, merging two of my favorite things together and I, of course, had to answer it.

This tag was created by Rendz, @ Reading With Rendz and I saw it on Angelica’s blog, The Book Cover Girl.

YEAR 3000

A book/series set in the way distant future or A book/series that took you on an adventure

fetus nick jonas as a main vocalist: you’re welcome

First of all: Year 3000 is a jam. My biggest pride growing up was being able to successfully sing to the bridge of this song. (It’s not much of an impressive skill now, but considering I knew two words in English at that point, I’d say it was pretty impressive).

I think there’s no other way to answer this question than talking about THE ILLUMINAE FILES, because it is one of my favorite series of all times. I already miss these characters.

HOLD ON

A book/series that took a while for you to get into

Resultado de imagem para jonas brothers en concert

That is hard, not gonna lie, because I hardly ever continue with a book series if the first book doesn’t capture my attention enough.

But for regular standalones, I’d say it was a bit hard to get into TRULY DEVIOUS. I was struggling with the language and long descriptions a lot and I found the first chapters to be super slow. I’m super thankful I pushed through, though, because it turned out to be a fantastic read – and much more dynamic after the halfway point.

(Hold On is also my mom’s favorite song by the Jonas Brothers. Thanks, guys).

S.O.S

A book/series that you needed saving from

Resultado de imagem para jonas brothers sos gif

I feel like I haven’t ranted enough about this book yet, but here it goes one more time. THE FOXHOLE COURT, BY NORA SAKAVIC. Why? Whyyyyyyyyy?

I was so sure I was going to love this book. It was in my 5-star-prediction’s list. And I hated it. This book was a mess. The characters are all bad-boys; there was absolutely NO PLOT; the writing is messy and I literally spent eight hours listening to an audiobook and I can’t even tell you what I’ve listened to because it was just a ball of ???????

I’d gladly have Joe Jonas rescue me from this book, thank you very much.

WHEN YOU LOOK ME IN THE EYES

A romance that makes you melt into a puddle of goo

Resultado de imagem para when you look me in the eyes gif

I just need to mention this couple, because there’s no one else that melts me into a puddle of goo like these two. NINA & MATTHIAS, FROM SIX OF CROWS.

Every single time they flirted or just *looked* at one another, I was already crying. When they get together, I had to actually put the book down and fangirl for about fifteen minutes before I could continue reading. I don’t even want to think what a re-read of Six of Crows will look like. I hope I’m not reading it in public, otherwise it will get embarrassing.

I probably cried with them more times than I cried listening to When You Look Me in the Eyes, which is a statement, because that song turns on all the hose.

BURNIN’ UP

A book/series so good it set you on fire

Resultado de imagem para burnin' up gif

I think my current read will be a great fit to this answer: HERETICS ANONYMOUS, by Katie Henry.

You know when you pick up a book and two seconds into it you already have the feeling it will be one of your favorite books of all times? That’s how I’m feeling at the moment. It’s hilarious, relatable, interesting and very immersive. I love Michael a lot and I’ve only known him for a couple hours. (Is this allowed?)

I hope to be slipping into the lava for a good reason here. Let’s hope future Lais doesn’t get totally disappointed.

LOVEBUG

A ship you were not expecting, but it happened and you ship it

Resultado de imagem para lovebug jonas brothers gif
if you don’t agree that lovebug is the best title track by the jonas brothers we can not be friends

I totally didn’t see them coming, and then when it happened, I was the happiest person in the world. ALEX & MAGNUS, FROM MAGNUS CHASE.

(From Mangus Chase. Not the other two Alex and Magnus, from Shadowhunters. Thanks).

When Alex first shows up, I could kinda feel some tension between them and Magnus, but I didn’t think they would work as a couple. (Alex is snarky and a bit mean; Magnus is a Hufflepuff. Do you get me?) And then they start getting closer, and closer, and by the third book, I was already the president of their fanclub.

SUCKER

A book/series you would reread over and over again

Resultado de imagem para sucker jonas brothers gif

There are a lot of books I’d re-read nonstop. Where She Went. (I just re-read this book back in March and I already want to re-read it again. Someone stop me). Lola & The Boy Next Door. Percy Jackson. Ari & Dante.

Re-reading books is a huge passion of mine. I feel like it’s a safe space for me, because I already know just what to expect. I know some people find scary to re-read books and realize they don’t like it as much as they did the first time around, but I have yet to encounter a book that feels like that for me (I only re-read old favorites anyway, and they’re definitely favorites for a reason).

Before I leave, I want to tag three fellow bloggers to answer this if they feel like it:

I know they’re fellow JoBros fans, so I hope they enjoy answering this tag as much as I did!

  1. Omg I was and still am the biggest Jonas Brothers fan!! I remember going to their concert in 2009 and being so overjoyed. I hope they go on tour again! I really want to read Heretics Anonymous. I’m actually really annoyed with myself that I didn’t pick it up when I had the chance. Glad you’re enjoying it :D

    • Em, I didn’t know you were a fellow JoBros fan! That’s so nice!
Same here: I went to their concert in 2009 and it was amazing, even if I was with my mom, very very far from stage and could barely see a thing, hahah. It’s still a great memory!
Heretics Anonymous turned out to be great; it was surprising for me and I loved it a lot more than I expected. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy it too.
      Thanks for the comment! 💛

  2. Okay I’m definitely doing this tag, it was quite a lot of fun reading your answers!
I’ve been meaning to pick Heretics Anonymous up for ages now and haven’t yet, same as Six of Crows!
Also, I fluffing missed the Jo Bros, I’m glad they’re back and keep giving me the feels ahaha!

    • I’d LOVE if you answered it, it’s such a great tag!
Both Heretcis Anonymous and Six of Crows were surprisingly amazing reads, so I hope you enjoy them just as much as I did!
I still can’t believe they’re back and releasing a new album soon! It’s a dream come true ✨
      Thanks for the comment!

  3. AHH I LOVE THIS TAG thank you so much for thinking of me <3 Nina and Matthias from Six of Crows aren't my favorite ship of the book, but I have to admit that I loved their chemistry so much and that ending ugh just so sad. And When You Look Me In The Eyes always makes me want to cry, there's something about this song. <3 <3

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • Of course, Marie!
The ending for them truly broke me, because they were the one relationship from the book that I could see sailing together forever.
When You Look Me In The Eyes is a beautiful track and I cry every time because I’m just so nostalgic! I have a lot of great memories associated to it.
Thanks for the comment, Marie! 💕

  4. Lmao, I’ve never listened to the Jonas Brothers, whoops 😆 I might have to now. But omg your Foxhole Court rant has me TERRIFIED. I’m, like, 80% sure I’m gonna love them, but there’s that 20% that’s clinging on to your rant like “see see you’re gonna hate them”. I really hope I love them, but I’ve heard such mixed things that I really don’t know anymore 😬

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • I am so shocked you haven’t listened to it! They were a big part of my childhood and I made sure all of my friends were just as obsessed as I was, hahah.
I definitely think it’s still worth giving it a try! I had heard mixed reviews too, but I still felt like I was going to love it, and it didn’t really happen. But there are still a lot of reviewers out there who ADORE this series. So, really, I think you’ll just have to try it and see if it works for you!
Thank you so much for stopping by, Laura! Sorry it took me so long to reply to it! 💛

      • I mean, I was completely obsessed with Camp Rock as a child, so if that counts, then yeah I’ve listened to some Jonas Brothers songs? But I never heard any of the music they released as “the Jonas Brothers” rather than “Connect 3” (the fictional band they played in Camp Rock lmao).
Yeah, I feel like I have to bump the series up my TBR now, cuz I’m super interested to see if I actually enjoy it, or if I end up agreeing with you and all the others who didn’t like it. Hopefully it’s the former and I end up loving the series!
Ahaha no problem <3 I mean, it took me, what, 2 weeks to reply to you, so replying late isn’t something you have to apologize to me for lmao :3

  5. Yes girl!! I’m so excited to answer these questions! 💕
And, hehe, I’m still gonna fight my no rereads corner, although I am planning on a couple rereads coming up, so, maybe I’m converting? 😂

  6. I loved reading this tag so much! I sadly was too young to join the Jonas brothers craze though :( And I’m sorry because when you said Alex and magnus, I was thinking “you mean aleC and Magnus from tmi?” Hahaha, I’m sorry, but that gave me a laugh! Nina and Matthias, yes!!!! I love their second chance romance so much & just,,, the way Matthias changes because of Nina is so beautiful!!! I could cry!!!! Awww, I’m so sad that you didn’t enjoy the foxhole court because it’s on my five star predictions too :( hopefully I don’t end up disappointed, though.

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • I was probably very young to join the craze too. I was only nine when I attended their concert for the first time! But it was a great time nonetheless, hahah.
Everyone thinks I’m talking about the TMI couple, hahah. I swear, Rick Riordan could’ve definitely gone a little bit more creative with his name choices, lol.
I do hope The Foxhole Court works better for you than it did with me! I know a lot of people who love this series, so I do still think there’s hope you’ll be one of them too.
Thank you so much for the comment, Caitlin! 😊

  7. I never actually got into Jonas Brothers when I was younger so I don’t know any of the songs *hides in shame* but I know year 3000 from Busted and I do love that song– if I am listening to it, I have to sing along haha!!
I really need to read the illuminae files– this is like the 100th time I’ve said this but I really, really want to.
I would love to reread books but I never make time for it because I am like ‘I must read the books I just got’ but I think rereading is great because you get to see your favourite character and I think you notice more— like I know people who have reread the raven cycle and said how much foreshadowing there was and I want to reread to see if I notice it.
This was really fun to read. <3

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • Year 3000 really is a jam, hahah. I didn’t even know it was a Busted song until recently! I hope you listen to their most recent album, then, because I’m sure it will be amazing!
I really think you’d looooove The Illuminae Files. There are a lot of great characters & relationships!
I do agree that it’s hard sometimes making time for re-reads, which is why this year I decided to re-read a book a month, so I am able to prioritize it, even through my crazy TBR. I want to re-read The Raven Boys – hopefully I’ll make time for it this year!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, Sophie! ❣️

  8. Thank you so much for participating in this tag!! I’m so glad you are such a big JoBro fan and that I was able to merge books and this band together in one tag! I loved reading your answers and little anecdotes! :)) Nina and Matthias are adorable and LOVEBUG IS THE BEST! I 100% AGREE!

  9. I must be the only person on this planet that is surprised that the JBros have SO MANY SONGS?! You mean to tell me that they actually HAD a discography?! I’m…shook. When the internet said they were “back” I though they meant, you know, the good old Disney shows or something????

Look. I loveeeeEEE The Foxhole Court. My disaster children. Yet I agree with everything you’ve said about the book ¯\_(ツ)_/¯? It’s MESSY. And the first books are NOT GOOD. But the last? My heart still hurts over it.

I should probably go now to listen to some of these Jonas Brothers bops

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • OH MY GOD, IOANA, THEY HAVE FOUR ALBUMS AND THEY’RE ALL SO GREAT!!!!! You shoudl listen to them, hahah. No, but really, a lot of people only knew them for their Disney shows, but they actually had an extent discography and it’s all amazing.
I’ve decided that I’m going to continue on with the series! I think there’s still hope that I’ll fall head over heels with it!
      Thanks for stopping by! 😊

  10. I’m not a fan of the Jonas brothers, but I can relate to your fangirling so much! 😆 Your excitement completely poured off of this post while reading it, and I love that 😋 Nina and Matthias weren’t my favorite ship in the book (Kaz and Inej completely swept me off my feet), but I did reread Six of Crows, and let me tell you, DO NOT read it in public unless you are okay with quietly sobbing in public as well. I haven’t read many books where the reread is more powerful than the initial read, but wow — rereading Six of Crows & Crooked Kingdom was an emotional roller coaster. I would definitely recommend it!

I had fun reading this tag of yours! 🌷

    Curtido por 1 pessoa

    • I’m so glad you got all my fangirl vibes from reading this, hahah. I really love when I get to share about music here; I should probably do it more often!
Reading these books in public is always an embarrassing experience. I was crying and fangirling and wanting to laugh and scream all at the same time and I’m pretty sure everyone around me thought I was crazy, hahah. I really want to re-read Six of Crows! I heard a lot of great things about the audiobook and I hope to have the chance to pick it up soon!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, Zoie! ❣️
